Dr Kishor E
For Dr. Kishor E, being an educator also means remaining a learner. A faculty member in the School of Mechanical Engineering at VIT-AP University and an alumnus of IIT Madras, he believes that continuous learning is essential to effective teaching. His journey with NPTEL reflects that belief: eleven courses completed, eleven certifications earned, and a growing body of knowledge that he brings to the table.
With a core specialization in Computational Material Science, Dr. Kishor has used NPTEL to explore subjects both within and beyond his field. Connecting these varied interests is a desire to stay updated with developments in engineering and technology while broadening the way he approaches academic work.
The impact of this approach has been particularly meaningful in the classroom. Courses taught by faculty from institutions such as the IITs and IISc have helped him strengthen his fundamentals and develop a deeper understanding of engineering concepts.

The flexibility of NPTEL has allowed him to fit learning around his professional commitments, while video lectures, weekly assignments, and examinations have provided a framework for sustained effort.
These elements have helped him maintain discipline and assess his understanding as he progresses through different subjects.
Dr. Kishor has successfully completed 11 NPTEL certification courses and has recently appeared for the certification examinations of two additional courses. His learning journey spans diverse fields, including ‘Mechatronics’, ‘Robotics’, ‘Cloud Computing’, ‘Quantum Computing’, ‘Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Machine Learning’, ‘Entrepreneurship’, and ‘Computational Material Science’. Completing eleven certified courses marked an important milestone, but he places the greater value on what lies beyond the certificates. For him, the reward lies in the knowledge acquired, the confidence to teach new subjects, and the motivation to explore emerging research areas. His journey is less about collecting credentials than about allowing each course to contribute to his development as an educator and researcher.
